Contex Professional

Contex Professional is CMYK pre-press system software that is purchased by trade shops, engravers, printers, color separators, package printers, and advanced design companies. The software is used for the production of catalogs, publications, packages, inserts, and color collateral. It accepts scanned images (photos, illustrations, and text), PostScript® files, and other industry standard formats. Images can be scaled, cropped, distorted, and rotated. Continuous-tone images are masked, and illustrations and text are quickly color-filled, trapped, and assembled into a final page. The software options include bidirectional interfaces to Hell, Scitex, and Crosfield pre-press systems, as well as standalone film plotters.

* Now features for 1995 include additive and subtractive ghosting, automatic drop shadows with feathering, automatic vectorization of lineart for scalability, and chooser level print spooling from Macintosh for automatic postscript production workflow.
